We considered the following models before settling on MDX
- Infiniti QX60 Luxe, good exterior look, interior control panel look outdated design, no CarPlay, out-of-door price at $42k, skip due to rumor of VRT transmission easy to break.
- Lexus, high sale volume, skip due to auto-acceleration accidents a few years ago
- 2020 Mazda CX9 Touring, out-of-door price at $33,500, we checked number of complaints and sales volume for Mazda CX9, Honda Pilot and Acura MDX in last 5 years on carcomplaints.com and found that CX9 powertrain #complaints / #sales were lowest compared to MDX and Pilot, however we skip CX9 because we prefer Acura over Mazda
