这次“嫦娥六号”返回器以“打水漂”的方式两次再入大气层，明显具备了“桑格尔”弹道的特征，此前“嫦娥五号”也是采用了类似的飞行轨道，也就是说，“嫦娥”系列返回器很可能是全球公开的首批“桑格尔弹道”成功案例；值得注意的是，“嫦娥”系列返回器的气动布局设计是以减速为目的，而且最终成功降落在预定地点，可以说精确度非常高。
