As of 10/24, what is achievable end state of the war? US military experts are not optimistic about Israel’s goal of eliminating Hamas and creating a pro-Israel government in Gaza.
Retired Col. Douglas Macgregor revealed on Tuck Carlson interview that US and Israeli Special Ops forces suffered severe losses in Gaza in effort to rescue hostages. This is reason why Israel delayed its ground operation against Hamas in Gaza in #IsraelHamasWar.
US think tank CSIS experts gave pessimistic views on the #IsraelHamasWar outcome for Israel: based on US experience against Al-Qaeda, technical-advanced forces of Israel can destroy Hamas military equipment, kill Hamas leadership and military personnel, but cannot destroy the idea and sentiment of people that gave rise to Hamas organization. Their lesson learned to win this type of war is to separate the organization's leadership from its people and to provide an alternatively attractive vision to the people, but they feel that Israelis are not following this lesson at this point.
