As September draws to a close, here is a summary of the monthly charts for the major indices of these three markets over the past three quarters:
- Hong Kong Stocks (#HSI): Hit a high in January, followed by a five-month bear market; hit a low in June; rebounded in July, then re-tested the lows in August and September.
- US Stocks (#SP500): Pulled back late in Q1, rose to new highs in Q2; saw a slight pullback in June and July driven by tech stocks (particularly semiconductors); rose marginally (2%) in August; and formed a "Doji" pattern in September.
- Mainland Chinese Stocks (#CSI300): Movements largely synchronized with US stocks in Q1 and Q2 (pullback late Q1, rise to new highs in Q2); however, trends diverged in Q3. Mainland stocks continued to rise to new highs in June, then plunged in July, saw a slight rise in August, and fell sharply in September.
This paid note includes forecasts for the October performance of these three major markets.
